Nursery

Baby K's nursery is finally done being decorated, so we figured we'd share some photos!

A lot of hands went into this room. Grandma B made the curtains and the quilt on the rocking chair (which is from Grandma S). Grandpa C made the airplane pegs under the left shelf. Daddy and Grandpa put up the shelving (thanks guys!).

The above photos show K's dresser and clothes hanging. Her starting books and piggy bank (from her aunt in Clay City, IN) sit on the above shelf. The paper lanterns over the changing table were decorations from our wedding reception, and the framed butterfly is from Uncle D's family's trip to Costa Rica.

The crib was Mommy's when she was a baby. The Mustang clock was Daddy's gift from Mommy (stayed in the room for the airplane theme, and since we have a clock in every other room already). Grandma B and Grandpa C altered the mobile to be aviation friendly, and soon the under-crib storage will be contained in nice fabric bins.

It's a small space, but it works well for a small girl! Thanks to everyone who helped transform this room into a cozy place to grow up!

dadada

Baby K has suddenly decided that "da" is her favorite syllable. We haven't figured out if it actually means our is associated with anything (daddy says it's all about him, but I am not convinced, as she says it anytime, anywhere). One thing is certain, though: it must be whispered and repeated. This is the only thing I've heard her whisper, but she won't say it loud like she does other "words".

So now she has "engee" (still no idea its meaning, but its use is much less than before), "naaaa," and now "dadada."

5 months!

It's hard to believe baby K is already 5 months old!

She is now rolling everywhere, and is quite mobile despite not crawling yet. She's also drooling like crazy and teething (gnawing on everything). She still loves to "babble" and even "sings" on occasion! She's still small, but active active active!

Christmas photo options

Trying to decide which photo to use for the Christmas card this year, as it needs to be done soon.
Which one do you think would be best?

Too cute...

...for her own good!

This was her outfit today.

We managed to meet up with Daddy for lunch at Steak N Shake, where she proceeded to get all the female waitstaff, a couple older gentlemen, and an elderly couple all going nuts over the adorable smiling baby. She couldn't get enough of it, either.
In addition, she has discovered that she can untie her booties.
We're in trouble!

Odd Sleep Positions

Baby K has an amazing ability to sleep very soundly in very uncomfortable or odd looking positions. I was puzzled until we realized her father does, too. Can sleep be genetic? It would seem so...

Tech Savvy

Baby K was introduced to the iPad over Thanksgiving break, and she is now convinced that she can use any computer devices, including touch screen phones, TV remotes, and especially laptops. I think we better start backing up our systems more often.

Snuffly Nose Baby

This past weekend my family celebrated Thanksgiving. It was a wonderful time of family, food, and good cheer. Unfortunately, we brought back with us something not so fun. A cold virus.

So far I'm only a tad sniffly and have a headache. Hubby hasn't got it at all yet. But BabyK...poor BabyK.

The poor little girl has a runny nose, and I'm suspecting a slight earache from the ear tugging. No fever, thankfully. She's being a trooper so far, but she has no patience to play, and refuses to lie down, whether on back or her tummy. She demands to be held 90% of the time, or at least be sitting up (not easy as she has to have some assistance), and has been very tired these last couple days. It doesn't help that her dad and I nearly choked her with her dose of Tylenol (she inhaled at the wrong moment...thankfully it wasn't even a half ml in her mouth at the time, but gave us both quite the scare)! I'm hoping this eases up soon, or else I'll catch it from the exhaustion of keeping up with her current demands.
