It's hard to believe our little girl is a year and a half old!!
We had a rough time of a sinus cold going around just after Christmas, but she's come through it before Mom and Dad have, and is eating a ton to make up for the lost appetite of the last week.
Earlier in December we stayed with the cousins in Boston for awhile, and she determined it was best not to talk more than cousin M and she was rather quiet for awhile. Once we arrived home, however, the floodgates opened and she had so many new words to share with us!
Her current favorite word is "nose" and she will happily point to her own, and yours if it is close enough to reach. She is also convinced when we say "snow" that we are mispronouncing "nose" and she is more than happy to correct us immediately. She can point to her eyes, ears, mouth, teeth, belly, and belly button when asked, and is already letting us know when her diaper needs changed. She also gladly tells us her food preferences ("grapes," "crackers," "ananas" (bananas), "yogurt," and "fruit snacks!"), and can tell us if she wants milk, water, or juice (which is often requested and often denied, much to her sadness). She can tell us if things are hot or cold, though not always correctly, and repeats most words if asked (though annunciation is rather lacking still). Her favorite phrases are "up, please," "all done," "stuck!," and "A-men" (after our mealtime prayers). She loves to show us her wide range of emotions, from dancing without prompt when she's happy, giggling madly when we tickler her, sobbing when she's hurt, or throwing a tantrum on the floor when she doesn't get her way. This month I noticed her becoming more of a little girl and so much less of a baby. She's rather proud of becoming "a big girl."
